Lake Meredith offers several camping opportunities, including scenic overlooks, shoreline camping, and wooded campgrounds. There are 10 RV sites at Sanford-Yake with electric and water hookups. These sites charge a fee and are available by calling 806-865-3131 for a reservation. You may camp at any location within Lake Meredith National Recreation Area for up to 14 consecutive days within a 30-day period, but no more than 60 days per year. Hunters may set up a camp between October 1 and December 31, with up to 30 days allowed annually per hunter. It is prohibited to leave your campsite unattended for more than 24-hours. CAMPFIRES: Fires are permitted only in elevated, above-ground grills and existing fire rings; fires are not allowed in the backcountry. Do not leave any campfire unattended. You may gather dead wood located on the ground. No cutting of trees or other plants is allowed. OTHER RESTRICTIONS:
CAPROCK CAMPGROUNDS Scenic overlooks of the lake with picnic tables and shade shelters Boat Ramp Closed Located about 3.5 miles from Fritch on Fritch Fortress Road, this popular campground overlooks the lake. Fritch Fortress Campground is suitable for RV's, trailers, and campers (but no hookups).
Boat Ramp Open Located on Sanford-Yake Road near the dam, Sanford-Yake is a well-maintained campground with a scenic overlook. A well-suited area for RV's, trailers and campers. There are 10 RV sites with 50, 30 and 20 amp electric and water hookups. These 10 fee sites are available by reservation. For reservation and fee information, go to: Wright-On Bait, Tackle and Watercraft Rental (or call 806-865-3131). The remaining sites are free, on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Boat Ramp Open Located north of the lake off Farm-to-Market Road 1913, this campground has breath-taking views of Lake Meredith. However, access to shoreline is difficult.
LOWER CAMPGROUNDS Southeast shore--sandy beaches, hiking, fishing from shore, Harbor Bay Boat Ramp Open This beautiful campground is located near the town of Fritch. From Broadway Street, turn west on Lakeview Drive until you reach the campground.
Hiking/Mountain Biking from Harbor Bay: Harbor Bay Trail: The trailhead is located at the end of the parking lot near the boat ramp. The Harbor Bay Trail system covers a total distance of 5.23 miles from Harbor Bay to Meredith Way, including the 2 loops. This trail also hosts several habitats including wetlands. South Turkey Creek Trail: The trailhead is located on the left as you enter the camping area. This is a singletrack path traversing the south shore of Lake Meredith from Harbor Bay to South Turkey Creek. A great trail to view a variety of habitats and wildlife. Excellent trail for birding. Boat Ramp Open (shallow, use caution) This small cove lies between Fritch Fortress and Sanford-Yake campgrounds. The area features beach camping with no individual campsites. The camping area is soft during rainy conditions. Drive with caution when leaving paved roads.
CANYON CAMPGROUNDS Hunting, hiking, & horseback riding Off-Road Area This area for off-road vehicles is located in the Big Blue Creek drainage on the northwest side of the lake. This area can be accessed from FM 1913.
Off-Road Area Off-road vehicle area on Canadian River with access from Highway 87/287. Permits are required to use vehicles in the designated off-road vehicle area. ORV permits are not required for camping.
Boat Ramp Closed Located on the southwest side of lake off FM 1913. Plum Creek is a popular area for horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. Devil's Canyon Trail is for beginner to experienced horseback riders, as well as hikers and mountain bikers. This area contains some beautiful shade trees. A great place for birdwatching.

Located off Farm-to-Market 3395, the Bugbee area features shoreline fishing. Areas near the shore will be soft during rainy conditions. Drive with caution when leaving paved roads.
