Independent Order of Odd Fellows CollectionAn artificial collection of objects, books, records, and photographs associated with Copper Country Odd Fellows lodges including Calumet Lodge No. 134, Calumet Encampment, No. 77, Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge, No. 15, Hecla Lodge No. 90, Stella Rebekah Lodge No. 206, and Keweenaw Lodge No. 535. Furniture, regalia, and records make up the bulk of the collection. Other highlights of the collection include decorative/symbolic prints used in the lodge hall. Records in the collection include ledgers, meeting minutes, reports, membership information, and various other materials related the administrative and ceremonial activities of the lodges. Records were produced between 1870 and 1994. Keweenaw Printing Company CollectionAn artificial collection of printing plates, presses, and furniture used by the Keweenaw Printing Company in the 20th century. The collection also includes many of the company's business records from the same period. Laurium National Register Nomination RecordsA collection of binders containing the 1994-1995 survey card, a 2003 survey sheet, an historical information sheet, and some 2003 and historic photos of properties in the Village of Laurium, as well as some associated records and the completed nomination. Lawrence T. Fadner Navy Radio Research PapersA small collection documenting the Navy wireless Marconi station at Calumet, Michigan, 1915-1922 and the life and career of Leo Young. Lawton Family CollectionA small collection of photographs and household furnishings belonging to the family of Charles Lawton, reportedly used by the family when he was superintendent at the Quincy Mining Company. McLean-Kennedy Insurance Agency RecordsA small collection of records from the Union Building in Calumet. Myrno M. Petermann CollectionA collection of photographs produced by Myrno M. Petermann, a local professional photographer, in the early 20th century. Many of the professional photos documenting buildings and sights of the Keweeenaw included in the collection were produced for the Keweenaw Printing Company. Some associated publications are included in the collection. A large number of personal and family snapshots are also included in the collection, with an emphasis on outdoor recreational activities in the Keweenaw. A few objects are also included in the collection; most notably a large wall clock which reportedly came from the Cliff Mine office. |
