1550 Anacostia Ave. NE Washington, DC 20019 The park is located in North East Washington D.C. south of route 50 and just off the Baltimore Washington Parkway. The park is also within the D.C. Kenilworth community and the Anacostia river runs along the park boundary. Interstate 295 runs parallel to the park. The park is within half a mile from the Deanwood Metro station on the orange line. There is free parking at the park. June-September expect warm and humid weather. Average high temperatures are in the 80s, though often in the low 90s. On humid days, showers and thunderstorms often build in the late afternoon. July and August are the warmest months. The coldest month is January, with average daytime highs in the low 40s and overnight lows in the upper 20s. Entrance Fee-free This site is fee-free year-round. No entrance fee or pass is required. Visitor CenterThe Visitor Center at Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens is an ideal place to begin your visit. Restrooms are located here as well as orientation brochures. A small room of exhibit panels provides a brief overview of the history of the gardens and its key plants. Those with children should ask about the Junior Ranger program. The gift shop offers a variety of items for the nature enthusiast. Stamps for all sites in National Captial Parks East can be found at this Visitor Center. Public WiFi is not available.
There is no WiFI available at Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens and cellular service is limited. Open 362 days a year, Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens welcomes visitors with blanketed white snow in winter, fresh green sprouts in spring, lush green hot summers, and painted foliage during the fall. There are a variety of activities and experiences for ALL to enjoy throughout the year.
