Deaf / Hearing Loss

Communication

The park has an UbiDuo available upon request at the Rangers' desk in the Independence Visitor Center. Point to the UbiDuo sign, if needed. The UbiDuo is a communication device that enables deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people to communicate face to face using a set of keyboards. Both users can type at the same time.

Films

Open captions are available on all park films in the following buildings:

  • Benjamin Franklin Museum
  • Independence Visitor Center
  • Liberty Bell Center
  • New Hall

Assistive listening devices are available to borrow for the films and videos in the Benjamin Franklin Museum, as well as the films in the Independence Visitor Center, and Liberty Bell Center.

Printed information

There is printed information available on the Liberty Bell and Independence Square buildings as well as in the park brochure.

Assistive listening for tours

Ask a ranger for an assistive listening device to amplify the tours in Independence Hall and Congress Hall.
