Harry S Truman spent 82 of his 88 years in Independence, Missouri. He cannot be separated from his hometown. This program examines the chronological growth of the resources within Harry S Truman Historic District National Historic Landmark, an area of 153 acres surrounding the Truman home that is nationally significant enough to be included as part of the 1.41-acre Independence unit of Harry S Truman National Historic Site.
