Office of the SuperintendentThe Office of the Superintendent is located at park headquarters downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas. This office has the ultimate responsibility for managing the park with a staff of 50 National Park Service employees and a budget of approximately $4.6 million, including working with neighboring communities where visitors from the park spend an estimated $97.3 million a year. Office of Business ServicesThe Business Services office provides a host of park-wide services enabling fellow park employees to focus on accomplishing core mission operations. They supply budget and financial management, payroll and timekeeping, travel services, internal controls and audits, information technology support, human resources management, mail services, acquisition and personal property management, and special park use permit management. .Office of Leasing and Commercial ServicesThis office manages the concession contracts, Commercial Use Authorization and leases of businesses that operate in the park providing a food, lodging, and other visitor services including the Mountain Tower and road based commercial tours. The office ensures that 1) commercial operations do not have adverse effects on park resources and values and 2) visitors have access to high-quality services so they can fully appreciate the natural and cultural resources in Hot Springs National Park. Office of Facility Management and OperationsThe backbone of the park oversees maintaining and improving buildings, grounds, roads, trails, utilities, and water collection and testing. They also oversee many building and rehabilitation projects that are necessary for the park’s historical structures.Office of Cultural and Natural ResourcesThis division studies, inventories, and monitors a wide range of park resources, including archeological features, geology, vegetation, wildlife, water, air, and historic and cultural resources. We also manage the park's research library, archives, and museum collections.
Office of Interpretation and Visitor ServicesThe Interpretation division facilitates connections to the park, whether in person, virtually, or over the phone. They manage the volunteer program, staff the visitor center, lead tours, hikes, and campground programs, assist with educational programs and field trips, and update the website and social media. Office of Visitor and Resource ProtectionHot Springs law enforcement rangers enforce laws that provide for the safety of visitors and protect the natural and cultural resources within our national parks. They also provide emergency medical services, search & rescue operations, wildland fire protection and are often sent to communities and other federally managed areas to provide support and emergency assistance when needed.
