This was Franklin Roosevelt's bedroom when he was a young boy. The family maintained it with the original furnishings and decorations throughout FDR's life. It was the privilege of the eldest son living at home to occupy this room. The Victorian writing desk, bookcase, dresser, and brass bed, were accumulated in this room by a precocious Franklin in his youth. But the framed photographs, prints, memorabilia, and membership certificates on the walls were added throughout FDR's life. The things in this room represent political interests, personal interests, and personal achievements. |
