Volunteer Archeological Monitoring Program

Are you interested in archeological site stewardship? Would you like the opportunity towork in the national parks in your area? Then consider volunteering with the National ParkService this summer!

We are looking for motivated individuals interested in participating in a new pilotarcheological monitoring program in our local NPS park units. As a volunteer archeological monitor, you will get the opportunity to:

  • Work at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Eleanor Roosevelt, Vanderbilt Mansion, and Martin VanBuren National Historic Sites
  • Help park staff design a volunteer based archeological monitoring framework that will be used in park units throughout the region
  • Learn about cultural resources, site management, and preservation in the national parksLearn how to monitor and document archeological site conditions and disturbances
