![]() NPS Photo / Tom Engberg The Archeological Resources Team here at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park is tasked with studying the human past. Namely, the rich cultural past of Native Americans who inhabited the south-central Ohio area some two-thousand years ago. The people of the Hopewell culture left no written records of their culture, so it is up to archeologists like those who work at the park, to investigate and examine the clues that have been left behind by these mysterious people. By researching and investigating the findings at the park, we can piece together the stories of these incredible people to help all of us understand, respect and honor the prehistoric Native Americans we refer to as Hopewell.
