Herbert Hoover National Historic Site is at 110 Parkside Drive, West Branch, Iowa 52358. If using Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation, the coordinates in Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) are X: 637614, Y: 4614507. Getting Here Driving Take exit 254 on Interstate 80 to West Branch, Iowa. The Visitor Center is 0.3 mile north of I-80. Get up-to-date road and travel conditions from the state of Iowa's traveler information service. For travel information by telephone, dial 511 in Iowa. Herbert Hoover Highway (exit 249 on I-80), a scenic motor trail, connects Iowa City and West Branch and to the nearby towns of Springdale, Rochester, Tipton, and Lowden. Bicycling A state road map for bicyclists is available from the Iowa Department of Transportation. Within the park, paved roads normally open to the public, sidewalks, boardwalks and parking areas are open to bicycle use. All trails and service roads are closed to bicycles.The Visitor Center parking lot has a bicycle rack. Parking Park at the Visitor Center, Presidential Library and Museum, Gravesite, and at the picnic shelters. All on-site facilities are within walking distance of the parking lots. Parking is limited so please allow extra time to find a parking space. Additional parking may be found on the streets of West Branch. Buses & RVs Bus and recreational vehicle (RV) parking for the Visitor Center and Presidential Library and Museum is on Parkside Drive across the street from the Visitor Center. Buses and RVs may park also at the gravesite and picnic areas. Persons With Disabilities Designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in all parking lots. Those spaces are reserved for vehicles which are properly marked with a disability parking permit, such as a license plate or government-issued hang-tag. |
