Harpers Ferry NHP shuttle bus

Once you have arrived in Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, there are several park areas to visit.

Visitor Center

• From this location (171 Shoreline Drive, Harpers Ferry, WV 25425), visitors may park their vehicles and take a shuttle bus to the Lower Town district of the park. Riding the bus is included in the park entrance fee.
  • The shuttle bus service operates every day that the park is open.
  • Buses run every 10-15 minutes.
    • During Eastern Standard Time (November 5, 2023 - March 10, 2024): Start at 9 a.m.; last bus runs at 5:30 p.m.
    • During Daylight Saving Time (March 11, 2024 - November 3, 2024): Start at 9 a.m.; last bus runs at 7 p.m.
  • *NOTE: Pets are not permitted on the park shuttle buses.* (Exception: Service animals are permitted on park shuttles and in buildings while functioning in their work capacity.) For more information, please visit our Pets page.
• The Visitor Center also provides walking access to:
  • Murphy-Chambers Farm trails
  • Visitor Center to Lower Town trail

Lower Town

• Park shuttle buses transport visitors from the Visitor Center to Lower Town, where about four street blocks are lined with museums and exhibits. Learn more about parking in this area.
• Lower Town also provides walking access to:
  • Camp Hill and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail
  • Loudoun Heights trail
  • Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park towpath
  • Maryland Heights trail
  • Virginius Island and Hall's Island trails
