The George Washington Memorial Parkway is a national park stretching from George Washington’s Mount Vernon estate all the way to interstate 495. It includes park lands along the Potomac River in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Whether you want to visit historic sites, appreciate impressive monuments, or explore nature, the George Washington Memorial Parkway has something for you.

This parkway is home to iconic landmarks including the Clara Barton National Historic Site, the U.S. Marine Corps War Memorial, Arlington Memorial Bridge, and Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial. The parkway also preserves natural areas like Great Falls Park, Turkey Run Park, and Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve.

Permits 

A public gathering permit is required to conduct organized activities within George Washington Memorial Parkway. Activities such as First Amendment demonstrations, special events with 25 or more participants, and events that require any type of set up must have a permit.
