Be A Junior Ranger

Children who complete one of the Junior Ranger programs earn an official Junior Ranger badge.

Children ages 6 - 11, can complete one of the many Junior Ranger activities to earn their Gulf Islands National Seashore Junior Ranger badge!

To meet the Junior Ranger requirements, children need to complete one of the Junior Ranger handbooks available at Fort Pickens or Davis Bayou visitor center and contact stations.

Handbooks can be checked and junior ranger badges awarded at the Fort Pickens and Davis Bayou visitor center. Badges can only be received in person by a park ranger.

Visitors can also download and print an electronic version of the junior ranger booklet via the NPS Gallery site.

Each handbook and age group has different requirements. The program provides a great opportunity for children to learn about the natural wonders and historic stories and places of the national seashore. Plus it's fun, rewarding, and free!
