Accessible Features
Upon ArrivalAs you arrive at the Nike Missile Site there is usable parking available on your right. This area is paved and generally flat but, is it not striped. There is an accessible portable toilet available in front of the parking area. Inside the ParkAll tours are guided by a park employee, docent or volunteer. These individuals will tailor the tours to the needs of the visitor. All of the buildings are generally accessible to visitors with mobility disabilities. Some portions of the buildings do not provide adequate turning space for visitors who use wheelchairs. There are two historic military trailers that are not accessible to visitors who use wheelchairs. These trailers are extremely compact; however, visitors are able to view inside from the entry doors. Some routes throughout the site contain cross slopes greater than 2.08% and changes in level. The route leading to the Generator Building has a running slope of 7.5%, proceed with caution. Some of the exhibits are tactile including a scale replica of the missile. There are accessible picnic tables near the Assembly Building and the Missile Launcher.
