Old Swedes Historic Site

Old Swedes Historic Site serves as a reminder of the early Swedish settlement that once thrived along the Christina River. While visiting this site you will travel through time as you learn about the earliest settlers buried here to some of the people that campaigned for and against Women’s Right to Vote.

Your tour of Old Swedes Historic Site will start inside the Hendrickson House where you will be greeted by a guide from our partners. While inside the building you can ask them for the available stamps for your passport book and explore some of the Swedish style souvenirs available for purchase in their gift shop. The tour continues through the 1638 Burial Ground and includes the 1698 Holy Trinity (Old Swedes) Church.

Gravestones surround a path leading up to Old Swedes Church.
