Guided Programs
Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Natinoal Military Park offers a variety of programs and tours, including regularly scheduled ranger programs, curriculum-based filed trips for students of all ages, and staff rides for military groups.
Ranger ProgramsView the current program schedule or check the calendar below to see if programs are happening during your visit. Park programs are free and open to the public. Programs cover a variety of topics related to the park. During the summer season programs occur daily, with occasional special programs and events on the weekends. During the spring and fall, programs are typically offered during the weekends when staffing allows. The park generally offers very little programming in the winter. No Programs Scheduled?Park staff are happy to give brief unscheduled battle overviews and short pop-up programs (typically 15-20 minutes) when staffing levels and circumstances allow. If you are visiting at a time when no ranger programs are scheduled, ask us if we are available to give a short program! Battlefield GuidesFredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park does not provide personal guided tours of the battlefield, however, there are a number of private guides in the region who do provide this service. Education Groups & Staff RidesWe are happy to conduct curriculum-based field trips for students and staff rides that provide military groups training opportunities. We work with groups to schedule these programs and customize them to meet the groups needs and goals. Bringing a Group to the ParkIf you are bringing a large group to the park you may need to apply for a permit. Visit Permits & Reservations to learn about permits. |
