Indian Territory Camp Supply Personally appeared before me 2nd Lieutenant ? K. Sullivan, 3rd United States Infantry, Post Adjutant, 1st Sergeant Allen Armstrong, Troop “A” 10th U.S. Cavalry, who, being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says: That on or about the 2nd day of January, 1869 a quantity of Ordnance Stores for which Captain N. Nolan 10th U.S. Cavalry was responsible were destroyed by fire in the Storeroom of the Stables of Troop “A” 10th U.S. Cavalry at Fort Larned, Kansas: that amongst said stores, so destroyed, was a quantity of Condemned Ordnance Stores which he, assisted by Sergeant John Wilson, Troop “A” 10th Cavalry had packed in boxes and delivered to the Post Quartermaster for transportation to Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, but which were never [?] transported, but were subsequently found by him scattered on the floor of the Quartermaster Storeroom at Fort Larned, Kansas, and the boxes in which they were packed in use for other purposes; that he repacked said stores by order of Captain N. Nolan 10th Cavalry and had them taken to the storeroom of the Troop’s Stables for safety; and that said Stores were finally destroyed by fire on the 2nd day of January, 1869. |
