Pet Policy Pets may be left in vehicles in the visitor parking area, but it is the owner's responsibility to make sure that there is adequate ventilation and cooling/heating for the animal(s). This can be extremely challenging in warmer months. The Fort has pet watering stations at two locations on the park grounds. Inquire at the Visitor Center for locations. Horses are not allowed on the park grounds without a special use permit. Service Animals Fort Laramie National Historic Site follows National Park Service policy relating to service dogs. The National Park Service defines a service dog as “a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.” More information can be found here. |
