QUAKING YELLOWSTONE
Earthquakes are sudden movements in the Earth’s surface
that create cracks or fractures. A tectonic quake is usually caused
by the movement of rocks along a fault, while a volcanic quake indicates
that magma, hydrothermal fluids, or gases are moving. Both types
of earthquakes occur in the Yellowstone region.
