The Junior Ranger program is for those willing to preserve and protect national park sites. They learn about the important history that makes parks unique, explore their natural environments, and share their stories of adventure with friends and families. When they leave parks, they continue to protect and explore places close by.
Junior Ranger programs are available at most NPS sites and range in difficulty. Find a ranger at the El Morro Visitor Center and request a book. Complete the activities, show a ranger, and earn a badge!
If you are unable to complete your book during your visit, Junior Ranger books can be mailed to the park to:

Did you know El Morro National Monument is an International Dark Sky Park? This means that the dark sky is treated as a natural resource, just like the plants and animals that call El Morro home. Ask for the Junior Ranger Night Explorer book to learn about more about the dark skies found in national park sites. Completing this book will earn you a patch!
Want to keep learning? Complete the digital Junior Wildland Firefighter booklet and turn it in to El Morro Visitor Center to receive a limited edition El Morro and El Malpais Wildland Fire badge.
