Is the monument open?

Yes, the Quarry Visitor Center and Exhibit Hall reopened in October 2011, after a multi-year rehabilitation project. Visitors can once again see and touch dinosaur fossils in the "Wall of Bones." See our Operating Hours & Seasons page for current hours.

Is there a fee to visit the monument?

Yes, entrance fees are collected. Visit our Fees & Passes page to learn more about entrance fees.

Can I bring my pet with me into the monument?

Yes, pets are allowed in the monument. However, they are not allowed in public buildings or on many of the hiking trails, on the river, or in the backcountry. Please be aware that summer temperatures are extremely hot and there is no shaded parking areas. Pets should not be left unattended in vehicles, even for a few minutes.See our Pets page for more information.

I see that the monument is located in both Colorado and Utah, where are the dinosaur fossils?

Dinosaur National Monument covers over 210,000 acres, but dinosaur fossils can only be seen on the Utah side, just north of Jensen, Utah. See our Basic Information page.
