Reds Meadow Road

The Reds Meadow Road, which provides access to Devils Postpile National Monument, is open for the season. It typically closes sometime in October, conditions permitting. Most visitors will need to use the shuttle to access Reds Meadow/Devils Postpile during the shuttle operating season (June 17 through September 11).

Historical Public Opening and Closing Dates of Reds Meadow Road

Below are the dates that the Reds Meadow Road, the only road to access the monument, opened and closed each year since 2000. Note that the monument has been open to the public on Memorial Day weekend in only three of the past twenty years.
