Evening Programs

Explore and learn about Curecanti wildlife, history, natural and cultural resources, and more at an illustrated evening program with a park ranger. These programs are presented at the Elk Creek Campground amphitheater. Check the park calendar below for upcoming dates and times. Call 970.641.2337 x205 for program topics.

Astronomy Tours

Join a park ranger for an astronomy program, laser tour of the night sky, and telescope viewing (weather dependent). Check the park calendar for dates and times. Gunnison Valley Observatory, located west of Gunnison, hosts astronomy programs about the moon, planets, and deep-sky objects visible in our clear, dark skies. Check www.gunnisonvalleyobservatory.org for details on program offerings and dates. Periodically in the summer, a Curecanti park ranger will join them to give a brief presentation followed by a telescope viewing.
