Cabrillo National Monument

Cabrillo National Monument (Main Park) is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day when we are closed. Please be aware of the following specific facility opening and closing times:

Visitor Center and Bookstore Hours

  • Visitor Center / Bookstore: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (weekdays), 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM (weekends)
  • Visitor Information - Ranger Hotline: 619-523-4285: Staffed 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Trail Closure Times

  • Bayside Trail: 4:00 PM
  • Oceanside Trail: 4:00 PM
  • Tidepools: 4:30 PM
  • Coastal Trail and Coastal Area: 4:30 PM

Exhibit and Facility Closure Times

  • Assistant Keepers Quarters Exhibit: 5:00 PM
  • Cabrillo and the Age of Exploration Exhibit: 5:00 PM
  • Lighthouse: 5:00 PM
  • Military History Exhibit: 5:00 PM
  • Entrance Station: 5:00 PM

Main Gate Closure Time

The main gate into Cabrillo National Monument closes at 5:00 PM, and all visitors must exit the park at this time. Public access after 5:00 PM and before 9:00 AM is not allowed. This includes walking, jogging, and biking. Any type of entry is not permitted.

Holidays

The park is open on holidays, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Regular hours will apply, ensuring that visitors can enjoy Cabrillo National Monument almost every day of the year.
