Western Gull (Larus occidentalis)

Length 25” Wingspan 58”
Heavy thick-tipped slightly drooping bill, large stocky body, round head, dark back, seen in open coastal habitat, feed on shell fish and fish.

Western Gulls do not sing, but instead emit a loud, shrill and squealing ke-ow that is often repeated several times in succession.
