Meet a park geologist at Sunset Point to learn more about Bryce Canyon and surrounding area geology.
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Visitor Center Plaza Activities
Geology booths from nearby public lands and parks set up at the Visitor Center.
Booths this year include Zion National Park, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Grand Staircase & Escalante National Monument, the Filmore district of the Bureau of Land Management, Snow Canyon State Park, Kodachrome State Park, St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site, and Southern Utah University.
10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. - Scavenger Hunt, Fossil Dig, and Junior Ranger Booth
Meet the Ranger at the Visitor Center Plaza to learn more about these activities.
2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Geology Talks
These will be in the theater at the Visitor Center this year. Come back soon for a list of topics/speakers.
- 2pm Talk - "Flash Floods in the National Parks and Monuments of Southwestern Utah"
- 3pm Talk - "Geology Investigations"
- 4pm Talk - "BLM Minerals & Fossils: How You Can Utilize Them!"
- 5pm Talk - "Who's that Dinosaur?"
Evening Activities
8 p.m. - Keynote Evening Program at North Campground Outdoor Theater
"Bones, Stones, and Unknowns: A Deep Time Voyage to Explore Strange, Old Worlds"
This presentation will be moved to the Lodge in the case of adverse weather. If this happens, only those who have picked up tickets earlier in the day from the visitor center may attend the program in the lodge. This is due to limited space.
