Grand Staircase Geology Talks
12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. at Yovimpa Point
Experience the last 250 million years through the rocks that connect Bryce Canyon to Zion Canyon and down to Grand Canyon.
Evening Program
9:00 p.m. at North Campground Outdoor Theater (~45 minutes) National Parks as Scientific Benchmarks
Because Bryce Canyon’s geologic features and processes have been kept mostly unaltered for nearly a century, scientists can use the park to study geology, geomorphology/erosion, paleontology, hydrology, weather and climate, air quality, and even intangibles such as soundscapes. This information, in turn, helps us better understand and protect natural systems well beyond the park boundary. Join the park Physical Scientist to learn more about research and management in Bryce Canyon, and the role of all national parks as scientific benchmarks.
