An entrance pass is not required to access Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area.

Other National Park Service sites may require an entrance pass or fee. Depending on your trip plans, an interagency pass may save you money.

2025 Free Entrance Days in the National Parks

Come experience the national parks! All National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone (other fees, including timed entry or reservation fees, may apply). Mark your calendar for these entrance fee-free dates:

 

Boston Harbor Islands is a Partnership park; fees and reservations vary. Common types of fees and reservations are listed below:

The park does not charge an admission fee, but a transportation fee applies for the public ferry. Reservations are recommended. Please note that National Park Land Passes do not cover transportation fees.

Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation requires recreational or special permits for some types of activities, fees may apply. Reservations are required for camping, fees apply.

Many of the programs offered by the park are free. Reservation fees apply for Boston Light tours and may apply for some special boat tours or programs.

The Trustees of Reservations charge a nominal fee for entrance to Worlds End.
