Walking along the Bluestone Turnpike today, it is hard to believe that this was once a major thoroughfare used by Native Americans and later by early settlers and subsistence farmers who settled along the Bluestone River. Small farms were found throughout the Bluestone Gorge. The town of Lilly was once home for many families. Now only a few traces of foundations remain. The Lost Town of Lilly
