Drives Outside the Park

Nearby scenic roads provide access to overlooks into the Upper Black Canyon and Curecanti National Recreation Area.

 

 

Drive Safe

Do not let scenery distract you from driving safely. If you need to stop for any reason, use a pullout or parking area. Follow posted speed limits.

U.S. Highway 50, CO Highway 347, and the scenic park roads can be windy, steep, and narrow. Traffic can back up at the fee station or near the visitor center. Be patient and aware of road hazards such as potholes, soft shoulders, visitors walking or bicycling, wildlife, and ice patches.
