STATION CAMP CAMPGROUND

Travelers on I-40 west bound:

• Take the Jamestown-Crossville Exit onto U.S. 127.
• Take U.S. 127 north 36 miles into Jamestown.
• Two miles north of Jamestown, take Highway 154 north to the intersection of Highway 297.
• Follow 297 east approximately 25 miles to the intersection and turn left.
• Travel approximately 5 miles to reach the Station Camp Campground.

Travelers on I-40 east bound:

• Take the Monterey-Livingston Exit (300-A) or the Jamestown-Crossville Exit (301), onto Highway 62.
• Take Highway 62 east for 16 miles to U.S. 127 to Clarkrange.
• Turn left and follow U.S. 127 north 18 miles into Jamestown. (Travelers may take 127 through Jamestown or use the new Hwy 127 by-pass).
• Two miles north of Jamestown take Highway 154 north to the intersection of Highway 297.
• Follow 297 east approximately 25 miles to the intersection and turn left.
• Travel approximately 5 miles to reach the Station Camp Campground.

Travelers on I-75 north bound:

• Take the Oneida-Huntsville Exit (141) onto Highway 63.
• Follow Highway 63 west for 21 miles through Huntsville to U.S. 27.
• Turn right on U.S. 27 and drive north 7 miles to Oneida.
• At the first traffic light, turn left on Highway 297 west
• Travel 9 miles to the Station Camp Campground.

Travelers on I-75 south bound:

• Take the Williamsburg Exit (11) and turn left onto Highway 92.
• Follow 92 approximately 19 miles to the intersection of U.S. 27. (CAUTION: Construction work is currently underway along this route on the new highway.)
• At the intersection, turn left onto U.S. 27.
• Follow U.S. 27 south 13 miles to Oneida.
• Turn right at the fourth traffic light onto Highway 297.
• Travel 9 miles to Station Camp Campground.

BANDY CREEK VISITOR CENTER & CAMPGROUND

Travelers on I-40 west bound:

• Take the Jamestown-Crossville Exit onto U.S. 127.
• Take U.S. 127 north 36 miles into Jamestown.
• Two miles north of Jamestown, take Highway 154 north to the intersection of Highway 297.
• Follow 297 east approximately 12 miles to reach the Bandy Creek Visitor Center and Campground.

Travelers on I-40 east bound:

Travelers on I-75 south bound:

• Take Exit 11 for Williamsburg and turn left onto Highway 92.
• Follow Hwy 92 approximately 19 miles to the intersection of US 27. (CAUTION: Construction work is currently underway along this route on the new highway.)
• At the intersection, turn left onto U.S. 27.
• Follow U.S. 27 south 13 miles to Oneida.
• Turn right at the fourth traffic light onto Highway 297.
• Travel 5 miles to the intersection. Turn left and follow the signs on 297 to reach the Bandy Creek Visitor Center and Campground.

BLUE HERON CAMPGROUND & BLUE HERON (MINE 18)

Travelers on I-40 east bound and west bound:

• Take I-75 North in Knoxville, Tennessee.

• Take the Oneida-Huntsville Exit (141) onto Highway 63.
• Follow Highway 63 west for 21 miles through Huntsville to U.S. 27.
• Turn right on U.S. 27 and drive north 20 miles crossing into the state of Kentucky.
• At the intersection with the crosswalk (approximately one-quarter of a mile north from the intersection of Highway 92 and U.S. 27) turn left onto Highway 2792.
• Travel about a quarter mile and stay right at the intersection to continue Highway 1651.
• Travel on Highway 1651 another 2.5 miles and turn left onto Highway 742.
• Continue 742 about 5.25 miles to the entrance of the Blue Heron Campground on the right.
• To reach the Blue Heron Interpretive Center at Mine 18, continue Highway 742 for another 3 miles.

Travelers on I-75 north bound:

ALUM FORD CAMPGROUND & BOAT RAMP

Travelers on I-40 east bound and west bound:

• Take I-75 North in Knoxville, Tennessee.

• Take the Oneida-Huntsville Exit (141) onto Highway 63.
• Follow Highway 63 west for 21 miles through Huntsville to U.S. 27.
• Turn right on U.S. 27 and drive north 26 miles Whitley City, Kentucky.
• Turn left onto Highway 700. (Caution: there is a railroad track crossing along this road.)
• Travel one-half a mile to an intersection near the railroad tracks and stay straight at the intersection and continue 5 miles to the Alum Ford Campground and Boat Ramp.

Travelers on I-75 north bound:

• Take the Oneida-Huntsville Exit (141) onto Highway 63.
• Follow Highway 63 west for 21 miles through Huntsville to U.S. 27.

• Travel about 5.4 miles to an intersection on a gravel road. Stay right at the intersection and continue another mile to the next intersection.
• Turn left and follow the gravel road approximately half a mile to the last intersection and turn right.
• Follow the road another mile to reach Bear Creek Horse Camp.

Travelers on I-75 north bound:

• Take the Oneida-Huntsville Exit (141) onto Highway 63.
• Follow Highway 63 west for 21 miles through Huntsville to U.S. 27.
• Turn right on U.S. 27 and drive north 17.5 miles crossing into the state of Kentucky.
• Turn left onto Highway 1470. (Caution: there is a railroad track crossing at this location.)
• Travel about 5.4 miles to an intersection on a gravel road. Stay right at the intersection and continue another mile to the next intersection.
• Turn left and follow the gravel road approximately half a mile to the last intersection and turn right.
• Follow the road another mile to reach Bear Creek Horse Camp.

Travelers on I-75 south bound:

• Travel about a quarter mile and stay right at the intersection onto Highway 1651.
• Continue 742 about 3 miles to the intersection of Bear Creek Road/Ross Road.
• Turn left onto Bear Creek Road/Ross Road and travel 5.5 miles. At this intersection turn right and follow the road another mile to reach Bear Creek Horse Camp.

 

 

DRIVING DIRECTIONS FOR SPECIAL DELIVERIES

The following directions are recommended for any vehicle that exceeds 40 feet in length (truck and trailer combined). The recommendation is to travel from the East side of the park from Scott County. When traveling from the West side entrance via Fentress County, drivers will encounter switch backs and hair-pin curves that may be difficult to maneuver for larger vehicles.

From Hwy 27 North or South, turn onto Industrial Lane (follow signs to Big South Fork NRRA).
Turn left onto Industrial Lane and travel approximately .75 mile to another intersection.
Turn left onto Hwy 297 and travel about 4 miles and turn left.
Continue on Hwy 297 about 4 miles to the entrance of the park at the large Big South Fork sign on the right.
Continue another 3200 feet to take the third driveway to your left for the East Rim Maintenance Area.
There is no loading dock; however there are personnel and fork-lift available if needed to off-load supplies. There is also space available to turn-around and exit this location. This location is utilized for large commercial shipments (including any and all palletized shipments).

All small packages/commercial shipments via USPS, FedEx, UPS, etc. are delivered to the Park Headquarters located at 4564 Leatherwood Road, Oneida, TN.

*When driving HWY 297 through the Big South Fork River gorge, you will encounter steep grades (up to 13%) and sharp hair-pin curves. Drive slowly, use a low gear and check turns before you enter them. Similar steep road conditions also exist when driving into Blue Heron on Hwy 742.
