Commercial Use Authorization Insurance Requirements

What are the insurance requirements?

Generally, CUA holders must obtain the minimum liability coverage of $500,000 but may be higher depending on the provided commercial service. The CUA holder must maintain commercial automobile liability coverage for all owned, non-owned, and hired vehicles used by the licensee that is driven into the park that carry passengers or equipment. The policy shall be underwritten by a United States company and must name the United States of America as an additional insured.

Proof of Insurance Checklist

Proof of insurance must fulfill these requirements:

• Name the United States as additionally insured
• Be written in English with monetary amounts reflected in USD
• Include insurance provider rating or provide in separate document
• Name as insured the business or person that is providing the service
• Reflect that insurance coverage is effective at time of CUA Application submission
• Reflect a General Commercial Liability Policy with the minimum coverage amount required in the CUA Application
• Reflect required additional insurances (commercial vehicle, vessel, aircraft, etc.) with the minimum coverage amount required in the CUA Application
