2024/2025 Winter Season Hours

North District-Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center, Fort Smith, MT

The Yellowtail Dam Visitor Center will be closed for the 2024/2025 Winter Season. We hope to reopen for Summer 2025. We apologize for any inconvenience.

South District-Cal Taggart Visitor Center, Lovell, WY

Begining after Labor Day, the Lovell Visitor Center will be open Tuesday through Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The visitor center will be closed Sunday and Monday.

However, the visitor center is subject to uplanned closures due to incliment weather or limited staffing. Closure information and notices will be posted on our website and our social media platforms: Facebook and Instagram.

 

One Park, Two Districts

Bighorn Canyon is comprised of two distinct districts. For informational on the recreational opportunities of each district, visit the Places to Go page.

NOTE: There is NO public roadway that connects the two districts within the boundary of the park. Please visit the Directions page for information on travelling to the two districts.
