STICKLEAF (Mentzelia pumila) Blooms in late summer then into fall. Found in disturbed soils of the piñon-juniper woodland. Can be seen along the entrance road or at Juniper Campground.
WHITE STEMLESS EVENING-PRIMROSE (Oenothera caespitosa) Blooms starting in late spring (May) and continues to bloom intermittently throughout the summer and into early fall. Common in disturbed soils such as in Frijoles Canyon.
COW PARSNIPS (Heracleum lanatum) Blooms in mid to late summer. Found along streams. Common in Upper Frijoles Canyon.
EASTER DAISY (Townsendia exscapa) Low growing, blooms early in the spring. Found mostly in the Piñon-Juniper Woodland on trails such as Burnt Mesa and the Burro Trail.
GOOSEBERRY (Ribes inerme) Blooms in early spring. Has spines at leaf buds. Found in the canyons and on wet slopes.
WAX CURRANT (Ribes cereum) Blooms in early spring. Found in moist canyons and wetter slopes. No spines.
PALE WOLFBERRY (Lycium pallidum) Blooms in spring. Usually found on or near archeological sites. Used by Ancestral Pueblo people and, to some extent, it was cultivated.
SPOTTED CORALROOT (Corallorhiza maculata) Blooms in mid-summer. Found in moist canyons and on wetter slopes.
MONUMENT PLANT (Swertia radiata) Also called Deer's Ears. Found on open slopes of the mixed conifer forest like on Cerro Grande Route. Large plant, blooms in mid to late summer.
SAND ASTER (Leucelene ericoides) Found in the piñon-juniper woodland. Blooms in early summer.
DEATH CAMAS (Zygadenus elegans) Found in higher elevations of the park like Alamo Boundary Trail. Blooms in mid-summer. Poisonous.
MOCKORANGE (Philadelphus microphyllus) Tall, thin bush. Blooms in early summer. Flowers are extremely fragrant. Found in the canyons such as Frijoles Canyon.
WILD STRAWBERRY (Fragaria americana) Blooms in late spring, early summer. Flowers followed by edible fruit. Found in canyons in the Ponderosa and mixed conifer forests.
WESTERN BANEBERRY (Actaea arguta) Blooms in mid-summer. Found in moist canyons of the mixed conifer forest such as Upper Frijoles Canyon. Flowers are followed by toxic berries.
SEGO LILY (Calochortus nuttallii) Found in the Piñon-Juniper Woodland such as on the Burro Trail. Blooms in late spring to early summer. HELLEBORINE (Epipactis gigantea)
