Puma Profiles: P-38
Male
Initial capture date: March 2015
First caught in March 2015, this large male was killed when he was illegally shot in the head in June 2019.
He dominated a portion or all of the Santa Susana Mountains. His lineage is unknown, but it is thought that he fathered at least four different litters we have documented. In the summer of 2015, GPS tracking showed that he was hot on the tracks of P-32, who successfully crossed the 101 freeway northward. Typical of adult male lions, P-38 was protecting his range.
