Lewis and Clark Trail Partnerships 2021
Partnering with AIANTA: the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association
Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail is proud to partner with the American Indian Alaska Native Tourism Association (AIANTA) to find and share the stories of Native American Tribes that intersect with the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. AIANTA visited Tribes in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, conducted more than 120 interviews, developed content, and created regional itineraries that include Native and Tribally-owned destinations and experiences along the route. As of this writing, completed content for more than 77 listings are now showcased at LewisandClark.travel and NativeAmerica.travel. Lewis and Clark Trail Experience Geotourism Program offers new opportunities for Indigenous people to share their stories with visitors from around the world through cultural tourism.
