Key Highlights from August 2024:
- 1st Order Fresnel Lens Prototype installed in the Visitor Center by fabricator, Dan Spinella.
- Paint removal of the daymark began on 8/19.
- Begin restoration work on the Oil House.
- Continuing metal surveying and documentation.
- Shored interior landings and stairs.
Anticipated Highlights for September 2024:
- Phase 2 Landscape/Hardscape begins. Mobilization for new concrete walkways and Keeper Stone placement.
- Continuing paint removal of daymark.
- Complete restoration work on the Oil House.
- Removal of copper spire to be sent off-site for restoration.
- Bronze windows, pediments, and transom design finalized and sent out for fabrication.
- Continuing metal surveying and documentation.
Anticipated Highlights for October 2024:
- Daymark removal complete.
- Brick repointing to begin on the lighthouse - Interior and Exterior.
- Continuing Phase 2 Landscape/Hardscape – continue concrete walkways and planting sod around the Museum and the Primary Keeper's Quarters.
- Begin metal restoration on lighthouse.
