Key Highlights from August 2024:

  • 1st Order Fresnel Lens Prototype installed in the Visitor Center by fabricator, Dan Spinella.
  • Paint removal of the daymark began on 8/19.
  • Begin restoration work on the Oil House.
  • Continuing metal surveying and documentation.
  • Shored interior landings and stairs.

Anticipated Highlights for September 2024:

  • Phase 2 Landscape/Hardscape begins. Mobilization for new concrete walkways and Keeper Stone placement.
  • Continuing paint removal of daymark.
  • Complete restoration work on the Oil House.
  • Removal of copper spire to be sent off-site for restoration.
  • Bronze windows, pediments, and transom design finalized and sent out for fabrication.
  • Continuing metal surveying and documentation.

Anticipated Highlights for October 2024:

  • Daymark removal complete.
  • Brick repointing to begin on the lighthouse - Interior and Exterior.
  • Continuing Phase 2 Landscape/Hardscape – continue concrete walkways and planting sod around the Museum and the Primary Keeper's Quarters.
  • Begin metal restoration on lighthouse.
