Oak Island Campsites

Site 1

Location: sandspit, 1.5 miles east of dock

Amenities: vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, food locker.

Access: Small boats and kayaks can land at the sandpit. There are kayak corals available. The sandspit trail (1.5 miles) provides access from the dock.

 

Site 2

Location: 0.1 mile west of dock

Amenities: vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring, food locker.

Access: Land at the dock to access this site.

 

Site 3

Location: 0.25 mile west of dock, in the trees.

Amenities: vault toilet (at dock), picnic table, fire ring, food locker, tent pad.

Access: Boaters/kayakers can land at the dock and hike in. Minimal beach due to high water levels and erosion.

 

Site 4

Location: NW beach, 3 miles from dock

Amenities: vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring, tent pad, food locker.

Access: Sandy beach with a short trail up to the site.

 

Site 6

Location: north bay, 3.7 miles north of dock

Amenities: vault toilet, picnic table, fire ring, food locker.

Access: Sandy beach for landing kayaks and small vessels.

 

Group Site A

Location: 1.5 miles southeast from the dock, site is situated atop a high bank above the sandspit at the southern tip of the island.

Amenities: Vault toilet, 2 picnic table, fire ring, food locker.

Access: Small boats and kayaks can land at the sandspit. There are kayak corals available. The sandspit trail (1.5 miles) provides access from the dock.

 

Group Site B

Location: Approximatley 50 yards west of the dock. The site is adjacent to the volunteer cabin. The site itself does not have a view of the lake.

Amenities: vault toilet, 2 picnic tablse, fire ring, food locker.

Access: Land at the dock to access this site.
