Electronic Passes Available Through Recreation.gov

Purchase digital park entrance passes on Recreation.gov at no additional cost. Once purchased, passes for Antietam National Battlefield must be printed or saved on your mobile device, prior to use. When arriving to the park, your physical or digital pass should be presented at the visitor center. Connectivity is limited or non-existent in the park, therefore printing the permit in advance or saving it to your electronic device is recommended.

The federal interagency annual pass, the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Pass Series, is available for purchase when you arrive at Antietam National Battlefield. The following Antietam passes are available on Recreation.gov:

Three Day Pass (As of January 1, 2021)
  • $10.00 Individual
  • $20.00 Per Vehicle
Antietam Annual Pass
  • $35.00
Valid for one year from month of purchase for Antietam National Battlefield only. Admits pass holder and passengers in a single private vehicle.

Personal Vehicle/Family: $20.00 for three days

Individual: $10.00 for three days. This fee admits one individual in a vehicle and also includes hikers, bicyclists or pedestrians. Youth 15 and under are admitted free of charge.

Motorcycle: $15.00 This fee admits one individual on a private, non-commercial motorcycle for three days.

Commercial Fees:
  • $100 Motor Coach/Commercial Tour Groups with 26 or more people
  • $40 per passenger bus with 7-25 people
  • $25 per passenger bus with 1-6 people
  • Bus drivers (1 per vehicle) FREE

Annual Pass to Antietam Battlefield

An America the Beautiful Pass provides access to all federal recreation areas, including National Parks. The pass series includes an Annual Pass for the general public, lifetime Senior Pass for those 62 or older, lifetime Access Pass for US citizens with permanent disabilities, annual Volunteer Pass for volunteers accumulating 250 hours of service, Annual Pass for U.S. Military, and lifetime U.S. Military Gold Star & Veteran Pass. 4th Grade Pass Available
Fourth grade students and their families can benefit from free admission to fee-collecting parks, public lands and waters by downloading a paper pass from the Every Kid Outdoors website. In addition, if the 4th grader would like to exchange the paper passes for a more durable "keepsake" Fourth Grade Annual Pass, they may do so at the park's visitor center.
