Weather The climate at Amistad is semi-arid in moisture and subtropical in temperature. Humidity is more often high than low, with periodic morning fog. Summers are long, hot, and frequently humid; winters are mild and vary between sunny, warm, cloudy, and cool weather. This is the address for park headquarters.10477 Highway 90 West Del Rio, TX 78840 Directions From the Amistad National Recreation Area Visitor Center, turn right (west) onto Highway 90. Travel approximately 4.4 miles until you reach a large gravel pullout/parking area on the righthand side of Highway 90. There is an approximately 4-inch drop from Highway 90 onto the gravel apron, so plan accordingly for entering and exiting Highway 90. Campsite sign and gate are on the right side of the apron to back. Gate combination provided upon successful reservation. Regulations Site capacity not to exceed 35 persons. Visitors can stay in the campsite up to 14 consecutive nights with a limit of 60 nights in the park in a calendar year. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. Check out time is 11am. Ground fires are prohibited, except in the campfire ring. Any county-wide fire restrictions apply (information is usually posted among the alerts at top of park webpages). Site can be reserved for up to 14 days. Reservations must be made at least three days before date needed and no more than six months ahead of time. There is a $10 cancellation fee and additional fee for late cancellation (after midnight on the first day booked).
