Reservations are required. The program will cover geology, anthropology, ethnobotany, history, and natural history of this area. Alibates flint is unlike any other flint found in the world and was revered by ancient people for its sharpness and efficiency.
Trail Description: A moderate-difficult 2-mile hike consisting of a climb of 170 ft. in elevation. The guided tour takes 2 hours to complete and is not recommended for visitors with health issues. Please wear hiking attire and proper closed-toed shoes, preferrably hiking boots. No pets allowed. No smoking allowed. The quarries have been burned in the latest fire.
Tours will not be given during inclement weather or when staff members are not available.
