A visit to our memorial on Duane Street is a highlight for visitors to our site

Make the most of your visit to the African Burial Ground National Monument! The Indoor Visitor Center and Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am until 4 pm. The Outdoor Memorial is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm from May 7, 2024 until September 2, 2024. Beginning on September 3, 2024, the Outdoor Memorial will be open from 10 am until 4 pm. Reserve your ranger-led tour today using recreation.gov.

The stories of the African Burial Ground teach us how free and enslaved Africans contributed to the physical and spiritual development of Lower Manhattan during the 1600s and 1700s.
