Visitors touring the Old House at Peace field

• You can reserve a 30-minute tour of the Old House at Peace field and the Stone Library or a 2-hour Extended Park Tour that includes the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces), the Old House at Peace field, and the Stone Library. Reservations are not required for self-guided tours of the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill.

• Advanced reservations can be made online at recreation.gov and cost $1.00 per person. A limited number of free reservations can be made on the day of your visit in-person at the visitor center. We strongly recommend making reservations in advance to guarantee the tour and time that suits you. Entrance passes must be purchased in addition to tour reservations.

• Backpacks and bags larger than 9" x 11" x 5" are not permitted in the historic homes. Be advised that the park does not have storage lockers for these items and we recommend they be left in your vehicle or at your hotel. Bags may not be left unattended on park grounds. Anyone carrying a backpack or a bag larger than 9" x 11" x 5" will not be permitted in the historic homes.

• The only public restrooms available are located at the Visitor Center.

• The houses are old and were built as family homes, not tourist attractions, and some rooms have limited space. For the protection of the historic homes and artifacts, and quality of the visitor experience, the number of people in the building at once is limited.
  
  

 

2024 Guided Tours

The Extended Park Tour includes an extended experience in the historic structures and content covered in the Old House at Peace field Tour. Visitors may not want to book both tours as the content overlaps.

Extended Park Tour

Guided tour of the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces), followed by a guided tour of the Old House at Peace field and the Stone Library. This tour is 2 hours total in length, including 15 minutes for travel between the two sites.

Extended Park Tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, as staffing and weather permit, at the following times:

• 11:00 am
• 3:00 pm

Old House at Peace field Tour

Guided tour of the Old House at Peace field and the Stone Library, focusing on the lives and legacies of the first two generations of the Adams family to live in the house, John and Abigail Adams as well as John Quincy and Louisa Catherine Adams. This tour is 30 minutes in length and does NOT include the Adams Farm at Penn’s Hill (the John Adams and John Quincy Adams Birthplaces).

Old House at Peace field Tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, as staffing and weather permit, at the following times:
