Get a Free 4th Grade Entrance Pass

This free pass allows all U.S. 4th graders access to all federal recreation land, including national parks! The pass is valid for 12 months beginning September of the year the student begins 4th grade and valid until the following August.

Complete the student activity guide and get your pass and printed voucher required to exchange for the pass.

 

In-Park Activites

There are plenty of activities throughout the park specially designed for kids and families. Check out some options below or stop by the visitor center for more information.
 

Attend A Ranger Program

Check out the Park Calendar to find a family friendly ranger program for you!

Special kids programs such as the Carroll Homestead Drop-in Program, kids festivals, and Junior Ranger stations may be happening during your visit.
 

Complete the Acadia Quest

Acadia Quest is a series of youth- and family-oriented experiences in the park that encourage youth and families to explore, learn about, and protect national parks and other conserved lands.

Families or friends create a team and complete activities in categories of Explore, Learn, and Protect. For more information, visit the Acadia Quest page on the Friends of Acadia website.

 

Become A Junior Ranger

When you arrive in the park, stop by a visitor center, nature center, or one of the park campgrounds to obtain your Junior Ranger booklet. Complete activities in the booklet and attend ranger programs. Once you complete your booklet, you can get sworn in by a park ranger and get your junior ranger badge! You can also become a junior ranger at other parks across the country. Learn more about the National Junior Ranger program.
 

Go On A Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger hunts are fun, hands on ways to explore Acadia and learn about different parts of the park. These scavenger hunts are designed in a way that can be shared with Acadia National Park Rangers, and students can print their own certificates of completion when they finish.
