Park to Remain Closed January 6, 2025, due to Impacts from Winter Storm Blair

HODGENVILLE, Ky – Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will remain closed Monday, January 6, 2025, due to impacts from Winter Storm Blair.  

The park and surrounding areas have received widespread snow and freezing rain, and National Weather Service forecasters predict severe winter weather will continue overnight into Monday morning. For the safety of all staff and visitors, the park will remain closed through Monday.This closure includes the following:

  • Birthplac­­e Unit – Complete closure
    • Main entrance gate, Visitor Center and parking lot, trails, restrooms, Memorial Building
    • Picnic Area, parking lot, shelter, restrooms, and trails
    • Maintenance facility, and park headquarters/administrative offices
  • Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek – Complete closure
    • Main entrance gates, parking lot, grounds, and trails
    • (The Knob Creek Tavern is closed for the season, so this closure does not impact its operation.)
