Park to be Closed on January 10, 2025, due to Impacts from Winter Storm Cora

HODGENVILLE, Ky – Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park will be closed Friday, January 10, 2025, due to impacts from Winter Storm Cora.  

The National Weather Service forecasters predict the incoming winter storm will impact the area starting around 4:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 and will continue for most of the day.This closure includes the following:

  • Birthplac­­e Unit – Complete closure
    • Main entrance gate, Visitor Center and parking lot, trails, restrooms, Memorial Building
    • Picnic Area, parking lot, shelter, restrooms, and trails
    • Maintenance facility, and park headquarters/administrative offices
  • Boyhood Home Unit at Knob Creek – Complete closure
    • Main entrance gates, parking lot, grounds, and trails
    • (The Knob Creek Tavern is closed for the season, so this closure does not impact its operation.)
The closure will remain in place until the winter storm conditions have passed, and the park’s grounds, roads, and trails have been inspected for safety.
