Wedding Locations in Yosemite National Park
Yosemite Valley
  • Lower Yosemite Fall
    Site is located approximately 100 yards (100 m) north of Yosemite Lodge intersection on hardened path to Yosemite Falls; 50 people maximum. Ceremonies are not allowed on Yosemite Creek bridge. Rest room facilities are nearby; no parking on site; shuttle bus recommended. Monitoring is required for groups of 50. Open all year (8 am to 12 pm, June through September).

  • Swinging Bridge Picnic Area
    Site is located on beach northeast of bridge; 20 people maximum; restroom facilities nearby. No ceremonies are allowed on the bridge. Parking is limited. Car pooling is recommended. Open all year (8 am to 12 pm, June through September).
  • Cathedral Beach Picnic Area
    Closed November through April and at dusk daily; 50 people maximum; restroom facilities nearby; parking is limited; car-pooling recommended. Monitoring is required for groups of 35-50 people. 8 am to 12 pm, June through September. Six vehicles maximum.

  • Sentinel Beach Picnic Area (limited use during raft season mid-May through mid-August)
    Site closed November through April and at dusk daily; 100 people maximum with limited availability; restroom facilities in vicinity; car-pooling recommended. Monitoring is required for groups of 50 people or more. 8 am to 12 pm, June through September; 25 vehicles maximum.

  • Bridalveil Fall
    Located on asphalted path below the fall beyond second stone bridge; 50 people maximum; restrooms nearby; monitoring is required for groups of 50 people. 8 am to 12 pm, June through September; 15 vehicles maximum.

 

Wawona

  • Wawona Point
    Walk in 0.5 mile (0.8 km) from tram stop(must pay for tram). No private vehicles allowed. 50 people maximum. For access information contact DNC Parks & Resorts at: 209/372-1000. Closed mid-November through mid-May.

  • Upper Mariposa Grove
    Located near restroom off tram road (must pay for tram); 50 people maximum. No music allowed. Closed mid-November through mid-May. No vehicles allowed; tram and trail access only. Contact DNC Park & Resorts at 209/372-1000 for tram information. Monitoring is required for groups of 35-50 people.

  • Glacier Point
    (Earliest availability is after Memorial Day through late October due to annual Glacier Point Road closure.)
    Site is at south end of amphitheater; 50 people maximum. Weddings are not scheduled here in July & August. Monitoring is required for groups of 35-50 people.

  • Chilnualna Falls Trailhead Parking Lot
    Location is at west end of parking area, down slope from the asphalted parking lot. 50 people maximum; 10 vehicles maximum. Monitoring is required for groups of 35-50.

 

Tuolumne Meadows

Earliest availability after Memorial Day weekend through late October; Availability varies due to annual Tioga Road closure. Enforced parking limits of 25 vehicles for Soda Springs and Tenaya Lake beach.

 

  • Soda Springs
    Walk in 0.25 mi (0.4 km); 50 people maximum.

  • Tenaya Lake beach
    East end of Tenaya Lake, 100 yards (meters) south of intersection of trail from the parking lot and lake; 50 people maximum; restroom facilities nearby. No dogs allowed.

  • Tuolumne Meadows Lodge area
    Located upstream from Tuolumne Meadows Lodge on Dana Fork granite slabs; site is accessible from unsurfaced trail from Tuolumne Meadows Lodge. Parking is limited near Tuolumne Meadows Lodge; 25 people maximum. Car-pooling from public parking lot is required.

Big Oak Flat

Earliest availability after Memorial Day weekend (late May), Availability varies due to road and weather conditions.

  • Tuolumne Grove
    Walk in one mile (1.6 km), with 500-feet (150 m) of elevation change (steep hill). Thirty (30) people maximum.

  • Merced Grove
    Walk-in 1.5 miles (2.4 km); thirty (30) people maximum.

 

Important notes:   

  • Site use is on a first-come basis, and is limited to two hours at all locations.
  • Park visitors are not restricted from sites.
  • If your wedding party is fewer than 10, you are not limited to these locations, exception for open meadows and riparian environs.
  • Pets are not allowed at sites. 
  • No wedding sites are available on major holidays.
  • Please respect park resources and tread lightly.

Did You Know?
In March 1987, the largest historical rockfall in Yosemite National Park deposited an estimated 1.5 million tons of debris at the base of Three Brothers, closing Northside Drive for several months.
