Francois Valle II House
The former home of Francois Valle II was constructed in the distinctive French Creole "vertical timber" style in about 1792-1794. French Colonial America received an LMDI grant to repair portions of the exterior foundation and surrounding elements.
The Sorapuru House
The Sorapuru House is a French Creole home constructed in 1825 for free people of color in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana. It was damaged during Hurricane Ida in 2021 and needed extensive repairs to secure the building envelope.
Wagner's Store
Wagner's Store, in the community of Church Hill, is one of the oldest surviving country stores in Mississippi. The Historic Natchez Foundation sought to restore the badly deteriorated exterior of the building.
2022 Featured Projects
Arkansas Peace Week
The Arkansas Coalition for Peace and Justice received a Lower Mississippi Delta Local Heritage Grant in 2022 to interpret and maintain the 7th Street Murals in Little Rock, Arkansas. As part of their project, they also organized multiple educational events as part of the annual Arkansas Peace Week.
New Orleans & the Blues
The Tennessee Williams & New Orleans Literary Festival’s project, New Orleans and the Blues, brought together blues musicians and music scholars to present a program of music and discussion centered around the Mississippi Delta Blues.
Resetting the Table
The main goal of the "Resetting the Table: The History of Foodways in Vicksburg" project was to create a demonstration/teaching kitchen in the Catfish Row Museum, engage residents and tourists, showcase the connection between food and culture in the Mississippi Delta, promote culinary and cultural heritage tourism, and stimulate economic growth in the region.
Sesser Opera House
The Sesser Opera House in Sesser, IL was once a bustling cultural center that played host to decades worth of entertainment including silent movies and early feature films. The City of Sesser completed renovations so that the theater could once again be used as a working cinema.
2020 Featured Projects
No Tears Suite
It has been over 5 years in the making, but through a robust partnership with the internationally distributed non-profit Oxford American magazine, a global audience is now able to connect with the story of the 1957 Desegregation Crisis of Little Rock Central High School in an amazing new format.

Badin-Roque House
The Badin-Roque House is an important resource to the local and national Creole community in the Isle Brevelle, Louisiana built circa the 1770s.
Klipsch Heritage Museum
Located in Hope, Arkansas the museum houses the library of Paul W. Klipsch, containing technical journals in the fields of electronics and acoustics.
Spirit Of The Blues
A regional performance series, the “Spirit of the Blues” was championed by The Delta Center for Culture and Learning at Delta State University. Delta State is located in Cleveland, MS, the heart of the Mississippi Delta region, which is recognized as “The Birthplace of the Blues”.
