The South Rim is Open All Year

The South Entrance, north of Tusayan, AZ, and the East Entrance at Desert View are open all year - 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

The North Rim is Closed for the Winter

North Rim roads and facilities, including the campground, lodging, retail and food/beverage are closed for the winter. Reopens May 15, 2024.

    Weather Forecast and Road Status

    Grand Canyon weather forecast has maps and graphics. Call 928-638-7496 for road status recording. SR 67 to the North Rim reopens on May 15.

Ride the Free South Rim Shuttle Buses

Park once, then let the buses transport you from Visitor Center parking lots to scenic overlooks, trailheads, and all village services.

South Rim: Programs and Activities

Astronomy talks resume April 25. Cultural demonstrations resume May 7. Ranger programs resume May 11. (Summer staff training in progress).
