Death Valley Entrance Fee Options

Death Valley National Park prefers payment of all fees and permits with credit cards or digital payment. It saves a significant amount of money, helps us be safe, secure, and effective and allows us to spend more time with you.

 

Death Valley Entrance Fees

Death Valley Entrance Fee - per vehicle - $30.00

This permit allows all persons traveling with the permit holder in one single private, non-commercial vehicle (car/truck/van) to leave and re-enter the park as many times as they wish during the 7-day period from the date of purchase.

Death Valley Entrance Fee - per motorcycle - $25.00

This permit allows persons traveling on one motorcycle to leave and re-enter the park as many times as they wish during the 7-day period from the date of purchase.

Death Valley Entrance Fee - per individual - $15.00

This permit allows a single individual traveling on foot or individuals traveling on one bicycle to leave and re-enter the park as many times as they wish during the 7-day period from the date of purchase.

The National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series

America the Beautiful Annual Pass

$80: yearly pass covering entrance and standard amenity fees for national parks and other federal fee areas for 12 months from time of purchase.

4th Grade Pass - Every Kid Outdoors

Free: 4th Graders can earn a free pass to all federal fee areas. Visit the website to earn the pass, print the voucher, and then redeem it for your pass when you visit your park.

Annual Pass for US Military

Free: annual pass covering entrance and standard amenity fees for all active military personnel and their dependents with a CAC Card or DD Form 1173.

Lifetime Pass for Veterans and Gold Star Families

Free: lifetime pass covering entrance and standard amenity fees. Present a DoD Identificaion card (CAC card), Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC), Veteran ID card, or veteran's designation on a state-issued drivers license or identification card. Gold Star Families can exchange a voucher for a pass.

Access Pass

Free: lifetime admission and discount pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities. Admits only one motorcycle.

Annual Senior Pass

$20: annual admission and discount pass for US citizens or permanent residents who are age 62 or older. Valid for 12 months from time of purchase. Note: four Annual Senior Passes can be traded in for a Lifetime Senior Pass (described below).

Lifetime Senior Pass

$80: lifetime admission and discount pass for US citizens or permanent residents who are age 62 or older. Admits only one motorcycle.

 

Commerical Organizations and Large Groups

In addition to the entrance fees listed below, additional permits are required for commercial groups, special park uses (weddings, memorialization, group events, etc.), commercial film and photography, research, and other

Commercial Vehicle Entrance Fees

1 - 6 Passenger Vehicle: $25 + $10 per person
7 - 15 Passenger Vehicle: $75
16 - 25 Passenger Vehicle: $100
26 + Passenger Vehicle: $200

How to Pay Your Fee

Online payment of park entrance fees can be done at Recreation.gov. The park doesn't require a reservation for entry, just an entrance fee or park pass.


In-person payment of the park entrance fee and purchase of annual or lifetime passes may be done at these locations during business hours:

  • Furnace Creek Visitor Center

  • Stovepipe Wells Ranger Station

  • Furnace Creek Campground kiosk (when staffed October 15 to April 15)

Payment of park entrance fees using credit card may be done at fee machines 24/7 at:

  • Furnace Creek Visitor Center

  • Stovepipe Wells Ranger Station

  • Grapevine Ranger Station

  • Ryan Kiosk (east entrance to park on Hwy 190)

  • Zabriskie Point

  • Badwater

  • Hell's Gate (Daylight Pass Road)

  • Furnace Creek Campground (April 16 to October 14)

  • Sunset Campground (when open)

  • Texas Springs Campground (when open)

  • Stovepipe Wells Campground (when open)

  • Mesquite Springs Campground

Authorized Third-Party Vendors (cash or card)

  • Lone Pine Interagency Visitor Center ($30 vehicle pass)
  • Panamint Springs Resort (Death Valley Annual pass or $30 vehicle pass)
  • Death Valley Natural History Association bookstore inside Furnace Creek Visitor Center ($30 vehicle pass only)
