Weather Zion is known for a wide range of weather conditions. Temperatures vary with changes in elevation and day/night temperatures may differ by over 30°F. This is almost 5000 feet higher than the south entrance of Zion National Park at Springdale. This means it is usually cooler at Lava Point than in other parts of Zion National Park.
